The Fudge Factory Wins Georgia Business Award
To qualify as the Georgia Downtown Association’s “Most Innovative Downtown Business Anchor,” a business must successfully engage creative and effective strategies to expand business, attract new patrons, adapt to meet market changes, and positivity impact the climate of success for all downtown businesses in their community.
Located at the corner of North Park Street and Main Street for the last thirty years, The Fudge Factory anchors the Downtown Dahlonega Square. The Owens family started The Fudge Factory in 1982, and together they have grown it into a well-known and respected landmark business in Dahlonega. Five years ago, Debby & John Owens began the transition of ownership to their son Tony, who grew up working in the store. Tony now continues the family tradition of candy making. Through creative marketing and personal involvement in many areas of the community, The Fudge Factory has been able to increase their local customer base while continuing to enjoy the tourist traffic that makes Dahlonega unique in comparison to many towns and communities in Georgia.
Congratulations to The Fudge Factory as Georgia’s Most Innovative Downtown Business Anchor in 2012!!
