This program launched in 2008 with the goal that each of the 60 downtown commercial buildings will have a “Dahlonega Stories” bronze plaque. At this time, the DDA has created 20 of them in cooperation with property owners. The Dahlonega Stories plaque program had an expansion last year with the participation of Norman and Judy Adams, owners of the 1880 Crawford House, home of the Cotton States Insurance business and the Parks family, owners of the 1855 Payne Building.
