Date/Time
Date(s) - Saturday, April 15, 2023 - Sunday, April 16, 2023 | All Day

Location
Dahlonega Square

Musicians start gathering Friday afternoon for acoustic jams that continue all weekend around the historic square. On Saturday and Sunday, the MainStage tent features an extensive line-up of free concerts by nationally recognized musicians performing Bluegrass and Old-time music.

Bear on the Square’s juried Artist Market is one of North Georgia’s finest markets of traditional crafts, featuring a remarkable collection of one-of-a-kind, handmade items from the mountain region’s best artists.

Held around the Historic Public Square in Dahlonega, the Artist Marketplace presents juried work from an impressive group of approximately 70 regional artists, including local resident and noted folk artist Billy Roper. Fiber and textiles, folk arts, furniture/woodworking, glass and metal, jewelry, mixed media, drawing and painting, photography, pottery, and jams, jelly, honey, candles, and soaps are almost always represented.

A cherished Appalachian tradition, the art of storytelling entertains audience members of all ages as professional storytellers combine tall tales, moral lessons, riddles, and history. Appalachian settlers used stories to entertain, educate, and build community, aspects we still enjoy today.
