Dahlonega Celebrates Historic Preservation Month & Georgia Cities Week

A major feature of the celebration is the Art in Hancock Park exhibit & reception, planned for Friday, May 6, 5:30-6:00 PM, in Hancock Park. The reception offers Lumpkin County High School Art students, under the direction of Julie Hogan, an opportunity to display images of downtown Dahlonega that highlight the unique architecture of the city’s historic core. Participating young artists will be available to discuss their work with the community.

Numerous other events will be happening throughout the weekend and following weeks. Events include the First Friday Night Concert Series, the Dahlonega Farmers Market, the Dahlonega Appalachian Jam and a special Georgia Appalachian Studies Center exhibit, “Preserving Our City, Dahlonega,” at the Vickery House.
