Streetscape & Pedestrian Improvement Projects Planned

The first phase of projects are a partnership between the City of Dahlonega and North Georgia College & State University. A portion of the planned streetscape project will provide improved pedestrian linkage between the campus and the historic downtown center. The project will also connect the historic central business district with the city’s entrance corridors to bring more residents and visitors downtown for shopping and recreation. The streetscape project will be designed to compliment downtown’s historic character.  The project will encourage people to drive more slowly, and make downtown more pedestrian focused. The phase one project area begins at the Sunset Drive/West Main Street intersection, proceeding eastward to the Public Square, then turning onto South Chestatee Street and proceeding to Morrison Moore Parkway.
